Audio Systems: denon DRA-685, niles speaker selector, amplifier section

Question
Hi Robert, I have a Denon DRA-685 100 watt, 2 channel, that has has powerd my whole house audio ssystem for 7 years (5 pairs of speakers thruout the house). I use a Niles speaker selector box.  The Denon has stopped functioning, and I am looking for a relacement that can easily take over without any modifications to wiring, etc. What system(s) should I consider.  The salespeople that the big box store were completely clueless, and I need continuous power (not peak power) to operate all the speakers....  thanks so much!!!

Answer
Is it completely dead or is only the amplifier section not working. The reason I ask is because I recommend a commercial amplifier to power your speakers. If the front end of the Denon works than you can use the pre-amp out to feed an amplifer. QSC is a good commercial amplifier. There are deals on line and it does not have to be a high powered unit. QSC even makes an 8 channel amplifer. If you use a 4 or 8 channel amp you don't need the Niles switch. You will have individual volume controls for each speaker.
