Audio Systems: car audio problem, thermal failure, mtx thunder

Question
I have a problem with car system. Actually i'm not too shur what it is. I have an MTX thunder 4252 amp and two 1500w blackmore subs. They have been given exellent performance until just the other day. The problem is that there is barely any bass. There is sound coming out of the speakers but no bass and if i turn the radio loud it gives a «shitty sound» i have checked all the connections and they seem good. It has happen to me before and all i did was play with the wires in back of my radio and it came back but this time it didnt working. Could i have blown my speakers or my amp?? Thank you for your help

Answer
Are you sure you have sound coming out of the blackmore subs? If they are working you would definitely hear them roaring.

My suspicion is the sub amp that feeds the blackmores has gone out.  Either it has blown a fuse or gone into protection from over driving the amps or thermal failure. It can be caused by one or both of the subs having a shorted voice coil - also from over driving.  Investigate and make sure the sub amps are working.

Check the fuse; check the ground; check the power line feeding the sub amps.  I think you will quickly find out what has gone wrong.

Good Luck,
