Audio Systems: TV external speakers compatibily., fi loudspeakers, tv amplifier

Question
Cleggsan, hi,

I have a Sony KV-20FV12 20 inch home
stereo TV/Monitor set and Polk Audio SDA 2B 4 ohm floorstanding hi-fi loudspeakers, only specs about the speakers built-in that TV I know of
are 5 watt x 2 shown in its owner's
manual, nothing labeled on TV itself,
I tried find their ohm rating somewhere, I think most or all TVs use 8 ohm speaker(s), my question is,
can my TV by its external speaker connection RCA jacks handle play those Polk Audio 4 ohm loudspeakers totally compatible without impedance overload on my Sony TV amplifier damage?

Answer
This tv, the KV-20FV12, has no audio amplifier output.  It does have line outputs for which you can drive an external audio amplifier.

Page 10 of your owners manual - found at:

will show you how to connect to the speakers.  But, you will need to purchase an audio amplifier to drive the Polk speakers.

Hope this helps.
