QuestionHey,
I have had my Sony for a little over 4 years now and about a year ago I began
noticing little blue streaks in the scree, effectively tinting the picture blue.
The streaks have grown and nearly cover the screen now. I have called Sony
and got a run around from them for a while about the problem and was told
my warranty did not cover this problem. Cost to fix is 1000$. I am interested
if you would know maybe the technical problem or the part malfunctioning
that causes this. I have taken apart and worked on laptops and fairly
comfortable with electrical systems. I believe i could install a part if I could
find the problem.
Thank you for all your help
AnswerPlease refer to my colleague's reply on this item; it is well known by Sony:

See if you can talk them into extending the bulletin privilege to you; go to a manager or district service person who can overrule the local people you may be talking to. The part (video light engine) is indeed very expensive - $1,000, yes.
I hope Sony will help you. Tell them Cleggsan sent you to the national service manager.
Good Luck,
