Audio Systems: Two questions on TV and headphones, using headphones, wireless headphones

Two questions on TV and headphones:

Hi,

1. A friend has a good, new pair of wireless headphones and, unfortunately, an older TV with no headphone input jack.

I know that a TV repair man can add an input jack, but this would be rather expensive, Is there any sort of adapter that can, in effect, add a headphone input jack to a TV that doesn't have one?

2. I have a similar wireless headphone and a new TV that does have a headphone input jack. However, the jack is in the back of the TV, Is there some sore of cable/adapter that can be left in the back of the TV and give a jack to the side of the front of the TV? (The problem, I would think, is that when the cable/adapter is plugged into the back of the TV it will cut off the sound when you're not using headphones.)

Are there any other kinds of audio outputs on either of the TV sets? If so, you could run a line from that output to a stereo receiver and connect the headphones to that. Using a "line out" output will not affect the TV normal volume controls.

Look for connections labeled "line out" or "Audio out". You may have the red & white RCA connections or a single RCA (in the case of a mono signal).
