Audio Systems: vrcd400-sdu will not turn on, amp fuse, happy hunting

Question
I've had this player it worked fine till yesterday it has power lights up the display but will not turn any of the modes on such as cd/aux/sd/usb/ or the radio  it also has a reset led red light that usually flashes when the face is removed it is not lit up either.  the manual say press the reset button located next to the reset led light is does nothing.  do you have some advice on how to fix my problem?

Answer
Have you conducted a Hard Reset?  To do this you must remove power for about 20 minutes.  The main 12v power line must be disconnected from battery.

ALso, check the two fuses; there is a 1 amp and 5 amp fuse.

If you have external amps or sub amps connected, disconnect them and check it; then connect on at a time to see if you have overloaded it somehow.

Check the wiring from the connector on the back of the unit out to all the speakers to make sure there are no shorts or miswiring (page 7 of the manual).

If still not working, pull it out and bench test it with only 12v applied and stand-alone speakers to verify unit has not failed. If set is bad you may have to have it repaired.  If it does work outside the vehicle then it is surely a wiring or connection problem or shorted speaker voice coil of something like that.

Happy hunting; hope you get it going easily.
