Audio Systems: configuration for monoblock/bridging amps, klipsh speakers, bridging amplifiers

Question
Hello Robert----I have been learning about monoblocking/bridging amplifiers for increased performance--I have two Onkyo m-504 amplifiers that I would like to bridge to put more power with less work to the amplifier to my klipsch speakers--ccould you please guide me through the configuration to hook preamp and both amplifiers--thank you    Randy Stover

Answer
I downloaded and reviewed the pdf operating manual. Being that the amplifier construction, essentially isolates two mono block amplifiers in one unit and there are no switches to reverse differential polarities in order not to damage the amplifier, I would not advise trying to bridge without tech support from Onkyo. You also want a  guarantee that if you blow up the amplifier that they will cover repair.

165W per channel is not monstrous power. Doubling it would not double your output. In order to double 10 Watts you need an amplifier with 100 Watts of power. To double 100 Watts - 1,000 Watts. It's logrithimic like our ears. Klipsh speakers are typically efficient and do not require oodles of power. If it's performance quality your looking for it is not necessarily a question of power as amplifier construction, class, damping factor and transient response of a speaker system. If the Klipsh are using horns then there is no discussion about smooth transients.
