Audio Systems: speakers for perreaux amp, performance amplifiers, pre amplifier

Hi from Oz,
I have a Perreaux 100 WPC pre amp with 8 ohm impendence rating.  I listen mainly to instumental/classical and vocal type music.  Any general suggestions as to a speaker choice ?  Thanks in advance,  Andrew.

You mean amplifier not pre-amplifier. Perreaux is very much under rated as an amplifier. It's designed for studio playback and rivals many performance amplifiers twice the price. I don't know what price range you're looking at but if it were me I would be looking at speakers like New Form Research or Martin Logan. The size is not as important as the fact that these are performance speakers that use a technology that lend themselves to accuracy in acoustic music reproduction and very smooth transients. They are both extremely musical.
