Audio Systems: audio, air television, second zone

Hello

I am considering a micro system JVC ex-A10 (they call it "theater "  system...)  .  However, at the same time, I am considering switching from my current TV set - to a new plasma or LCD.   
1 Is it possible, (and recommended) to connect and enjoy the JVC EX-A10 to the new TV set and get a good sound out of it?
2 Will this sound be as good or almost as good as a real surrounding sound, the one that has these about 5  narrow speakers?

3 Or, is it better to get a separate system - one for the TV and another for CD's music?

1.  Yes you can watch tv on your plasma monitor and have the audio go through your receiver.  This is very common.  Now if you're watching basic cable or over the air television your TV will have to have an audio out, so you can pipe the audio through your receiver, other wise the audio output of a cable or sat box can be connected to your receiver.

2.  This is a stereo receiver meaning a left and a right speaker only.  This is not the same as surround sound.  They are making no claims to be a surround receiver.

3.  You can get a good receiver that can handle all your audio a video switching you can even get one w/a second zone for a patio or guest room.  It's much simpler and less cluttered to consolidate to one receiver.  You can have multiple inputs of many different types on one receiver.
