Audio Systems: replacement flyback, flyback transformer

Hello cleggsan it`s been a while since i`ve spoke with you my last question you help me with was right on the money.THANKS. I`m a good repairman. My tv went out and i discovered that it was the flyback.Tv MODEL NO.VS-5042 flyback part no. 334p246b1 and i cant seem to find it anywhere. What I want to know is there a replacement flyback to this model.I know its an older model but i think i`ll save some money since im doing the repair myself besides i like the tv. Thanks

There are a few places you can find this flyback online but it is quite an expensive unit.  Just google for the part number.

http://www.mainelectronics.com/flyback.htm  has it but it is over $140!

https://www.ued.net/ued/addItems.do?itemCode=UEF334P246B1 has it for under $100 but not available until Jan 09.

http://www.audiolabga.com/mal_cart/mal_cart.php?find=p  has it for around $70.

So, you have a few choices and it may be you should shop around to make sure they really have it in stock and that it is the right one.

PS: With Mitsubishi you should try to stay with the exact part number.  A qualified parts expert at one of the sites above may be able to tell you which others may be an exact equivalent, but don't count on finding one.
