Audio Systems: Sound Level, music environments, long periods of time

Question
Hello, most audio systems (home or pro) have around the same loudness (80-120DBs)so the more power and amp has the longer a distance the sound will travel right?

Answer
Unless you are operating a large disco tech I would think that you would not have very happy neighbors if you play anything exceeding
105 db for long periods of time. At certain frequencies 120db borders on the threshold of pain. Typical volume settings for home theater would be in the 85 db range. Listening levels usually extend from about 45db to 95db unless you like to listen at high volume levels. The need to listen at higher volume levels is usually induced by going to loud music environments and listening at high volumes with headphones/earphones.
