Audio Systems: PA Snake, amp rack, monitor cable

On 8/3/08 I ask about running a pa snake, and I have a follow-up question. first, my amp rack will be on or behind stage,and mixer out front. There's two things I need to hook up. #1, monitor cable. Can I plug this cable into return jack on snake box on stage, and plug fan end to Aux out on mixer? If not, what kind of snake or entension do I need? #2, how do I connect the mains out from mixer. You mentioned that I would need a seperate snake for that.What kind of snake?  Thank You, Ray

My recommendation is to purchase a pre-fabicated snake by a company like Whirlwind or equivalent (mic/foldback).  They are made in many sizes and lengths. There will be an XLR/1/4" fan out on one side and a box with connectors on the other. As far as the snake for the mains of the board, all you need to do is use a Belden 8451 or equivalent for each channel out.
