Audio Systems: Television and Computer flat screen, flat screen monitor, basic assumption

Question
QUESTION: Is there such a thing as a flat screen monitor which serves as both a television screen and a computer screen? If so, what are they (LCD, plasma)? and anything else you can tell me about them, like what brand? Where to buy? How much? etc. Thanks very much.

ANSWER: I guess we were not speaking the same language. I should have been  clearer in my answer and say that nearly ALL 2008 Televisions are compatible with PC computers. If you were an intelligent novice then you wouldn't need to ask an expert with 40 years of experience in television. You could go to Radio Shack and ask a salesman or do a simple Web search to Sony, Samsung, Panasonic or the like. I thank you for your negative response. I'm sure it will help me more than you, not to answer banal questions again.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Novice? I'm not beginning a study of electronics - and I would think that with 40 years of experience, you would be able to answer a simple yes/no question. Should I have asked someone with 50 years of experience instead?

But You're right. We weren't speaking the same language. I was speaking English, and you were speaking arrogance. If such questions could be answered by others, then WHY ARE YOU IN ALLEXPERTS.COM? The purpose of allexperts, as you are apparently unaware, is for alleged "experts" in certain fields to provide answers to questions. I don't remember anything in the rules or disclaimers that "banal" questions were taboo. The basic assumption is that the answer in unknown to the questioner. In this case the answer was unknown to other people as well - who were thought to know he answer. That's why I resorted to allexperts.com, where I have in the past received satisfactory and polite responses.

You were right again when you said, "I should have been  clearer in my answer and say that nearly ALL 2008 Televisions are compatible with PC computers." You could have said that the first time, followed with an "I don't know" for the rest, and a polite suggestion of where to look up the answers - (if you knew, but apparently don't. The people at Radio Shack are, in my opinion, ruder than you are). I don't buy televisions OR computer monitors every month, so I make no apologies for my lack of awareness of the availability - or even the existence - of certain technologies.

Finally, it's not for you judge the banality of questions, because you apparently wouldn't know the difference. You got a well-deserved negative response. I suggest, therefore, you get over it, and learn some manners - or retire - get a job at Radio Shack!

Answer
Perhaps you asked the wrong person the question to begin with. I am by no means put off by your response. If you read my bio you would have noticed that most of my experience is in the area of professional studio and commercial electronics. I do not need to be an All Expert but have been escorted into this service by the hundreds if not thousands of customers and students who have become as successful as I, in recording and designing audio systems. If you've ever been to a major concert and liked the group that you heard until you actually met them in the dressing room, guess what.... I'm one of those guys to some people.

FYI - I have nothing to get over. I am still going strong and will continue to try and help those who ask me questions that test my skills. Your question unfortunately was not one of those.
