Audio Systems: how to set up, dual voice coils, monoblock amps

Question
i have two 1600 watts subs(each)
in a ported box and wire to 2ohm and i have two monoblock amps 700 watts, each one has one channel how would I set up to amps to one box with two subs???? thank for taking your time

Answer
You cannot wire the amp outputs together; each one must have its own separate speaker load.

So, connect one amp to one sub and the other amp to the other sub. Keep the wires completely separate from each other and you will be okey.

Good luck,
C

PS: Make sure the impedance of the speaker is equal or greater than the impedance rating of the amplifier.  You should be okey as most sub amps are good down to 2 ohms and most sub speakers have 4 ohm coils.  IF: the subs have dual voice coils you can parallel them for a 2 ohm load. So long as the amp is good for 2 ohms that will be the best solution.
