Audio Systems: a problem with my cer stereo, sony explode cd player, culprit

i hooked up my sony explode cd player in my car ive gone through all the wiring it works but i can only turn the volume up a third of the way and then it will shut off it turns right back on afterwards but it will continuesly shut off if the volume is over a third of the way. I have no idea why this is any answers

You have a shorted condition or near short somewhere that is forcing the amp into protection/overload.  You must find it.  Disconnect all the speakers at the back of the amp, then hook them up one at a time and it should reveal which one is the culprit.
