QuestionHi,PLEASE help me!I bought a blaupunkt key largo dm2000 off ebay.It powers up fine,receiver plays fine,but every time i put in a new regular cd,cleaned burnt mp3 cd,and even a new cdplayer cleaner disc.All i get is "cd error",even after i cleaned contacts and pushed reset button.I'm at my wits end and am really disapointed.I really like the display and all.
AnswerMost items on eBay are defective (with home and auto electronics). That is why they are on eBay! I don't recommend you purchase from eBay unless the seller is close enough you can check it out in person before making the purchase OR if you have absolute return rights for any reason if not satisfied.
Back to your unit; probably the laser diode is weak or bad or mis-aligned and can't read the disc. Very common in auto players. Blaupunkt buys their player mechanism from other suppliers, mostly Japan or Korea or China and sometimes they are not up to quality standards.
But, I don't know of any constant problems with this model.
You can take it in to a shop to see if an adjustment of the optical pickup will correct it, but the expense is around $50 or so.
