Audio Systems: Re: Store Bought CD Collection, personal music collection, best bet

Question
I'm am contemplating upgrading from my present tube TV to an LCD version. I think this is the appropriate time to review my present entertainment center and decide if it is appropriate to downsize this as well. Today it holds my personal music collection that I limit to approximately 40 CDs. Is this approach obsolete? Should I have my personal music collection stored somewhere virtually and be loading it to a CD, IPOD, or MP3 device as needed? What recommendations do you have for individuals who want to be able to listen to music in the home, on the road, and personally when walking or maybe working out? Thanks in advance for your time.

Answer
I can answer the last part of your question about your music collection. iPods, mp3 players and the like are by and large the greatest advancement in flexible personal entertainment. There is no question that if you are looking for a portable device that you can enjoy at home that is your best bet. It will also consolidate your music library to a being very manageable as well as limit it's size only to hard drive space. All CD's can be converted to mp3's

The first part of the question is a little vague. Yes to LCD vs CRT. Not sure what you mean by downsize unless you are referring to a PC/TV. Yes to that as well. No need to by a TV and computer these days. Too many manufacturers make combo's that are as good if not better.
