Audio Systems: 99 oldsmobile cutlass cd player help?!?, oldsmobile cutlass, rear speakers

Question
i just recently purchased a 99 oldsmobile cutlass. the car has a stock cd player in it. yesterday i bought two 12'' subwoofers and an amp. i went out to my car to try and take out the cd player to hook up the amp and im not sure how to get the cd player out. i do not want to force it out as i might break it. do you know how to get it out?

Answer
There are many, many kinds of removal tools for various products.  Ford has their own series of hooks and rods and clips and GM has another battery of removal tools.  But, take a look at:

and this:

to see what radio configuration you have and what tools you may need.  I don't remember if you need an inserting tool to release the mounting clips or if the removal of screws will do it. You will have to study the dash and compare the pictures in order to proceed.

Once you get it out you may not find an output to feed the sub amps. If this is so - or if you just don't want to hassle that connection - you can use a hi-lo adapter which allows you to tap off the speaker wires feeding the rear speakers and drop the voltage down to the input level of the sub amp.  Many sub amp has hi level inputs right on the amp just for these kind of installations.  You can find them at www.installer.com and such other places (Including cructhfield.com which is a place I like).

Let me know if you need more.
