Audio Systems: 2000 mecury sable LS premium edition, 57 ford, cd changer

i recently bought a 2000 mecury sable LS premium edition. i noticed a CD button next to the tape player. I tried looking for the CD changer and could not find it. i was wondering if i would not have one, even if my dash gives me options to use a CD player. And is it possible to buy a car stereo and have it installed to the premium edition? Thanks.

you don't have a cd changer,but  the vehicle is prewire for a cd changer the connection is in the trunk left side behind the carpet
