Audio Systems: Mercedes C36 AMG, mercedes c36, stereo amp

I would like very much to upgrade my 1995 C36 system.  But I don't like the change the look of the stock system.  My stereo is currently not working.  I don't know whether it is the head or the amp, but the time has come to upgrade.  Any suggestions.

First look around for what install kits and wiring harnesses are available. One place is here http://www.metraonline.com

Some vehicles have so much of the cars systems run throught the stock radio that often times no pre-fab install kits exists or are hard to find.

For instance, in my '97 Civic I had to keep my stock radio stuffed into the dash connected via a special "Y" cable to my new head unit just to keep my keyless entry working right.

When all else fails, you can simply replace the stereo/amp with another stock stereo/amp found at a salvage yard for cheap or from the dealer.
