Audio Systems: peavey booster amplifier, musical instrument amplifiers, amp fuse

Question
I found a Peavey Booster Amplifier (Series 400H) in my attic, it seems dated but appears to power on. Any idea what this is used for and if it is worth any money? Front has "hi" and "lo" inputs , a "UV" needle display, back shows "700 watts", 120 vac, 60hz, has 6 amp fuse, has two speaker jacks that say "200 watts, 4 ohms". Thanks!

Answer
Peavey makes really fine musical instrument amplifiers with good engineering.  They are robust and very reliable.

This is quie an old model and if it is in good working order would be a great addition to a band or musician to drive a 200w speaker system.

If in working condition is has value, especially to a live music performer who appreciates the Peavey brand.

As to its value, I would think - and it just my wild guess because there are other factors that would need evaluation via a hands-on examination - it has a worth of $100 or more.  If it is not in its portable case the value would be less.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

PS: You can check it out be running and audio signal into it and connecting a good loudspeaker to the output connections on the back.

PPS: You can find the Peavey spec sheet on it by going to their website.
