Audio Systems: broken cd player, cassete player, proper alignment

Question
hi dan, i have an rca rp-9320 model... 3 cd, am/fm, cassete player that has a cd that will not load because it keeps striking a post/spindle before the cd is allowed to completely be seated correctly, upon inserting....i hv been told that the "loading mechanism" is out of whack and needs to be disassembled & reassembled...any & all help in this matter would greatly be appreciated, thanks, billy

Answer
What you were told is correct, the timing of the loading mechanism is out.  This is realtively straightforward if you have the service manual.  There is a particular re-asembly sequence that insures proper alignment.  I can not provide the service manual due to contractual restrictions, but any authorized RCA service center should be able to repair this for you for under $100.
