Audio Systems: tape adaptor verse 96 Sunfire, cotton swab, amp section

Hello Dan,
I am using a tape adaptor in my sunfire to play my ipod. Problem is it only plays out of the speakers on the right side. This problem doesn't occur when listing to the radio. Should I try a different tape adaptor or..

Try playing a tape and see if you get the same results.  I suspect that you will. There is a channel out either at the tape head or the head amp section of the radio.  Essentially the adapter converts the signal from the Ipod to something that the tape head can read.  The radio believes that there is a cassette tape in it.  If you listen closely, you should hear the motors "moving the tape".  Try celaning the tape heads using a long cotton swab and alcohol.  Perhaps the head is just dirty.  If that fails, the radio will require service.
