Answer
When the rcvr shuts down the only thing indicated is that the protection system has activated.  There are a host of things that can activate this feature.   Here are some things you can try, but if they fail you will need a tech who can dig into it, take some measurements and find out what is going on.

ONE: Do a hard reset. Unplug the power cord for 30 minutes and try it again.

TWO: Disconnect the power cord; disconnect all speaker wires at the back of the receiver.  Then turn it on.  If it stays on with no speakers, connect just one at a time.  It could be that you have a bad speaker or a short on one of the speaker wires.

THREE: Have you tried replacing the fuse?  I can't remember if the main fuse is at the back panel or inside the set. If inside the set you must remove the cover to get at  it.  It may be a soldered in fuse which would require a tech to replace it.

Hope this helps.

PS: A common cause is bad output transistors. Cost of repair will run $40 and up depending on how many went out.
