Audio Systems: Fisher TAD 5060 CD player componant, back arrow, componant

Question
CD player was working fine... I backed up to a previous CD using the back arrow, the screen scrolled M-Error and will not play.  I tried unplugging to reset, but it still says M-error.  How can I fix it???

Answer
M-error means a Mechanical error.  The internal mechanism is not functioning properly.  There is a small part that has failed.  This is not a repair for the novice even though this is a common failure.
The part costs about $5 and there are 2 of them.  Even though only one has failed, I would recommend the replacing of both.  The entire mechanism must be disassembled and rebuilt and aligned.  A best guess would be about $10-$15 in parts and the standard labor charge for audio products (figure $75-$100).
