Audio Systems: subs, channel amps, mono amp

Question
QUESTION: I am looking to get 2 Pioneer TS-W307D2 or D4. I am looking to use the pioneer PRS-D4200F. Would this be a good pair. I definitely am looking to get those subs but if there is a pioneer amp that would work better than let me know.

ANSWER: Ideally 4-channel amps aren't used for subs and that one is a bit small.

Look for a class D mono amp that's 800 RMS @ 2 ohm and wire the subs like so - http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/sparky3489/PARALLEL-SERIES-box.jpg

You will need the 2 ohm DVC version of the subs.

Answer
It will work, but it won't push the subs to their full potential. Any CEA-2006 compliant amp will work and doesn't have to be Pioneer, unless you want it to.

You could get two of these (one for each sub) and get the 4 ohm DVC version and wire each sub in parallel to each amp - http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=120&i=130GMD7400&tp=115
