Audio Systems: Jensen CD 2010X connection, metal fingers, detachable face

Question
I have a detachable face CD player in my car.  When I attach the face, the power comes on but nothing else happens.  I think there may be a problem with the connections being dirty or something. is there a way I can clean those connections either on the stereo it self or on the faceplate?

Check the condition of the metal "fingers" on the faceplate as well as on the radio itself.  Clean them using a regular pencil erasure.  The erasure will burnish the contacts (clean them).  If that fails, then there is a problem inside the unit itself that may require bench testing.
