Audio Systems: No sound from Sony CDX-gt10w, sony cdx, speedy reply

Question
QUESTION: Hi there. I have hooked this up correctly using a wiring harness I bought from the store. The unit functions correctly in every way with the exception that there is no sound. I have checked the output of the radio with a spare speaker to ensure that it works and it does. However, when I plug the harness up. no sound. Is a 2000 Dakota Sport a common ground maybe? The unit says it won't work on a common system. Thansk for your help.

Here is some info about the harness http://documents.victorytechnologies.com//documents/product/70-6505.pdf

QUESTION: Thanks for the speedy reply! Where is the amp located? Maybe I can tap into the speaker wiring there.

Answer
The location of the amp is in the passenger kick panel. There is a bypass harness available from http://www.metraonline.com the part number is 70-6505.

The harness includes 17 ft. of 16 ga. wire. This harness is plugged in at the factory amplifier and ran to the location of the aftermarket radio or the aftermarket amplifier.
