Audio Systems: AM/FM radio/cd/tape player, authorized service center, virtual stereo

We have an 'aiwa' xr-m33 virtual stereo player taht suddenly stopped working. It makes a sound like something is stuck,  soiunds something like a studdering electrical noise, (duu duu duu).

it is stuck on auxillary.  Can it be fixed or should I just toss it?  I hate trying to work without my music!!!!!!!!!!!11

Most likely the unit has either a broken belt or the D portion has gotten out of timing and is stuck.  Unless the unit can complete its startup sequence properly, it will remain in an odd condition like you describe.  You should bring this to a n authorized service center for an estimate.
