Audio Systems: 2003 chevy avalanche cd problems, chevy avalanche, chevrolet avalanche

i recently had battery problems with my 2003 Chevrolet avalanche 1500 z71.  i i replaced the battery and now the in dash 6 disk changer does not work.  it says no disks or initializing when switched to cd mode.  am/fm/xm all work fine.  any help would be great.

the cd changer needs to be empty before you change the battery
the first time it sees power it moves all the way to the top and back if there is a cd  it gets stuck  this is a delco defect that happens all the time
sorry unit needs to be repair

you can try to remove all disc and remove the battery again  
if not the unit needs to be service
