Audio Systems: AUDIO RECORDING PROGRAM, program question, math problems

Question
QUESTION: I need a audio recording program to use here at my school for teachers/adults to record stories, math problems, books.  Sound recorder on the PC will not work for what we need it for.  Have you heard of Quick Time Pro?  HELP!!

ANSWER: Quick Time Pro does sound recording on a PC which is a contradiction in your question.

What do you want to do with the recorded information? You can also record with an iPod and a piece of peripheral hardware.

QUESTION: We need this for the kids that need extra help to come into a classroom and sit down and have a test or a chapter read to them.  Is Quick Time Pro a software that we need to purchase or can we download it?

Answer
Audio is my expertise. PC is the computer that I work with. Quick Time Pro seems to be an application originally made for Mac users that does much more than what you need it for. You will probably have to read the manual. I don't think it will be intuitive or simple for what you need.

There are many software programs available all geared to music recording with a myriad of processing that comes with them. If you've never used one of these programs you are in for a sharp learning curve.

You will also need a sound card, microphone, speakers.

I was merely offering a simple solution.

The sound editing program that I use is Sound Forge which is about $300 to $600 and truly is professional. I have no needs to look for anything else since this software meets all of my requirements. I do not necessarily think it's right for you. You might do well if you go into a Mac store and speak to their tech support.
