Audio Systems: Solving a CD Player Problem, elderly friend, cd technology

Question
Hi,

I am looking for a simple single-disk CD player for a blind elderly friend who
loves to listens to books on disks (CDs).  Her problem is that she is not able
to stop in the middle of a CD disk. When she shuts the machine off, she cannot
return to the same spot where she left off. Her current CD player does not allow
her to do this. She has to start at the beginning of the disk and fast forward.
Is there a CD player out there that has a memory option so she can return to the
place on the disk where she stopped, without fast forwarding. Also we are
looking for a CD player with big buttons that are easy to use.  Any suggestions
would be welcome.

Thanks,

Judy

Answer
Honeslty the easiest player that you can get for her is an iPod. It usually remembers where it was even after it's been shut off as long as it's kept charged. As far as keeping up with CD technology unfortunately I am not the right person to speak to. I do remember years ago seeing a Radio Shack CD player with large buttons but I can't say I have cause  to look at many available players.
