Audio Systems: Bose cube speakers, bose acoustimass, sony subwoofer

I purchased a pair of Bose double cube speakers on e-bay.

I check with my local Bose dealer and was told the these are pretty useless without a Bose Acoustimass sobwoofer.

Can I connect these sats to my Sony subwoofer that has a pair of speaker in and out ?

You probably can.  

BUT:  Bose is non-standard products and they do not follow the industry standards for level and impedance matching nor acoustic design.

THEREFORE: I cannot recommend you do it unless you know the specifications of the cubes and if they will properly interface with the woofer - electronically and acoustically.

In any event you may not get "good" sound with the Sony due to the acoustic mismatch.

On the other hand; it is a simple matter to connect it up and see what happens.  It may be alright.

PS: I could not find the electrical specifications for the cubes; Bose does not publish them looks like.
