Audio Systems: Sebring 2001 infinity amp, infinity speakers, factory amps

Question
Dear Mr. Gleggson,
Some rat stole my Sebring 2001 coupe (Infinity) stereo amp from under the front seat. (2) harness's still intact.
Do not want to pay the price for a factory replacement ($700)..so what can I do ?

Can you suggest an inexpensive amp replacement and any inter connections needed ?
Some people recommend a Pacific Accessory Corp AOEM-CHR kit and most 4 ch after market amps / and some say nothing aftermarket works ?

or,

Will I need to just replace the entire Infinity system with a new receiver / deck as many people say that the Infinity speakers (2 ohm) have to be replaced as aftermarket stereo's are 4 ohm output ?

What have you found, heard, etc.?

Also, does Chrysler or anyone have a used or refurbished Infinty amp for the 2001 available to simplify ?

In anticipation of your answer,

Thanks, Larry

Answer
I recommend you go to crutchfield.com and go down through their list of compatible amps for your car. You do not need to purchase from them, but their site is the best for letting you know what works and what doesn't.

I would replace the factory amps with something similar in basic specifications.

The place to find used amps is probably eBay or some auction site.

You should be able to match any standard amplifier into the existing harnesses. IF you need an adaptor Crutchfield is the place to go for it, too.

Let me know if you have further questions.
