I have a Philips LX3750W but now when i on the DVD player from standby mode it on's , but only for 2-5 second and then returns to standby mode.If i try this again and again the same process happens. Some told me that the relay need replacing, is this true?"

Try repowering the unit. Unplug the power cord for 30 minutes, then power it up again.

Also, make sure you have it properly interfaced with your tv. This model is a progressive scan system and if you have it set for progressive scan the tv must be able to receive this connection.  So, set it for regular video and see if that will make a difference.

From the above web page you can download the 33 page manual which gives great detail on properly hooking this system to a tv and making all the settings.

In the worst case, the unit may be defective, which may require servicing.
