Audio Systems: power amp, qsc power amp, inch cable

Question
hi, assume I'm using a QSC power amp in stereo but feed the amp with one signal. i use additional 1/4 inch cable to connect the extra 1/4 inch INPUTS 1 and 2 in order to have same signal in both channel. question one: is that good practice? question 2: when i insert the 1/4 inch plug to input 1 i notice reduction in the signal (volume drop) is that normal?. thank you.

Answer
1.  Yes, it is perfectly okey.

2.  It means the impedance of the inputs is a little low for the preamp that is driving it.  It should not give any deterioration of the signal quality.  Reduction should not be too much; maybe 2, 3 db.  If more, let me know.

Hope this helps.
