Questioni have fitted my after market JVC( KD-AVX11) head unit, i also fitted it with the factory stalk control. (Autoleads parts, pc99-jvc, pc99-x01, TO A jaguar x type 2001)
it all works perefct but when i switch on my head lights, the volume control stops working on the reduce volume button. it still works when i turn the volume down through the head unit but it dont work when i go to turn down the volume through the steering wheel.
if i turn my headlights off the problem fixes its self but when the headlights go back on again the problem happens again. i just like everything perfect, its the way i am.
AnswerThere are so many probabilities or possibilities in a system like this. So, I cannot guarantee that I know anymore about how to fix it than you do.
But, based on your description of the symptoms, I would say that the power lead to one of the pc parts is getting its 12v power from the headlight circuit rather than the straight ignition line. Try moving the power wire over to the ignition switch circuits and see if that corrects it.
