Audio Systems: installation, dual voice coils, chevy blazer

Question
i have two 12" subs (dual) which equal to 1100 watts and a 1200 watt 2-channel amp(sony). i need a wiring kit but i don't know which kind to get??

I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer

Answer
Not sure I understand your question.  Is it help on the installation of the whole sub system or just the wiring of the output of the amp to the speakers?

ONE:  The amp must have four connections made to it: Two 12v lines and 2 audio inputs.  The output of the amp can have each output connect to one of the to subs.  If the subs have dual voice coils they can be hooked in series if they are 2 ohms each, but if they are 4 ohm coils they can be connected in parallel - presuming your amp has 2 ohm safe connection.

TWO:  One 12v line comes from battery and remains on all the time. The other 12v line comes from the head unit and is the turn on when the head unit is turned on.

THREE:  The audio inputs to the sub amp are either from the rca sub output on the back of the head unit OR from the speaker outputs of the head unit if it does not have pre outs.  Some amps have hi inputs that will connect directly from the speaker level outs of the head. If not, you will need a hi-lo adapter which you can purchase from places like www.installer.com or crutchfield.com.

Maybe this will answer your questions, but if not, please come ask further.
