Audio Systems: 97 Explorer CD changer, cd changer sony, ford windstar

Question
The truck has a factory installed 10 disk cd changer (Sony part # F4FF-18C830-AA)with the adapter (#F4FF-18C832-AA)And the factory sterio (f57f-19b165-cg) and the commander display. OK so heres the question... The changer itself wasnt working at all (no power) so I used a little bit of dielectric on the power supply lead and viola, it has power (I can load cds) so I press the CD button on the radio and it flashes NO OJ  ??? and the commander doesnt light up or do anything. So i tear into the dash and discover that the commander display is not plugged in, I plug it in and...nothing. So I check the fuse, good. Now i break out the tester. Power to the changer (Obvious cause it ejects and loads) and power to the adapter. So I press the reset button on the adapter, the changer makes noise, so i know that there is signal goin to the changer from the adapter. Now the factory head is supposed to control the cd player on its own i suppose (that wont work either, the same NO OJ flashes when the CD button is pushed)but i cant get it to work either with the head unit or the "commander control" BTW I checked the "test" area inside the adapter and im reading 12.56 volts so I know there is power flowing thru it. I guess the main part of the question is what does NO OJ mean and how do i fix it...is the a reset button on the radio itself im missing that i need to push...and before i push it do i need to dig up the unlock code??

Answer
HI
thank you for helping me help you, you supply me with a lot of info i got a question 2 days ago ((my ford changer don't work ,do you know why ?))lol

anyway  NO DJ or NO CD means that the cd changer is not present the radio can not recognize the cd changer or the head unit is confuse
remove the battery for about 10 minutes

if that didn't help
this is what i believe maybe someone try to make this work in your vehicle the F4FF-18C830-AA was made for the ford windstar and the lincoln continental NOT for the explorer,
the radio f57f-19b165-cg was made for the explorer 1995 and 1996 some early 1997 still have that radio  the problem is that the radio have cd changer controls and there is no need  for the adapter that you found F4FF-18C832-AA by the way i don't find this in my ford books, is that the correct part number ?
unplug the battery and let me know what happends also check the part number and e-mail me again
