Audio Systems: ldntv65u, speaker wiring, process of elimination

Question
I install this radio myself and it worked fine. one day it started showing PICTURE OFF FOR SAFETY.  all the wires seem to be connected correctly. is there a way i can fix this ?

Answer
Well, you must determine what is wrong.  It will require troubleshooting and diagnosis.

First: Determine if it is caused by something external to the unit such as bad wiring, shorted leads, bad connector such as corrosion in the pins, etc.

Secondly:  Determine if there is a problem internal to the unit.  You might want to do a hard reset to see if that will correct the error message.  Hard reset requires that you remove power from the ldntv65u for 30 minutes or so.  If the reet does not restore it I suggest you bench test the ldntv65u by pulling it out of the vehicle and powering it up outside the car to prove it works okey.  If not you will have to determine what is wrong or take it back to the shop for repair/servicing.  If it works okey on the bench then you must determine why it does not work when installed.  For example, install just the power, leaving the speaker wiring disconnected at first to see if it powers up okey. Then add the speaker or other connections one at a time.

In other words, an orderly step by step process of elimination will lead you to the culprit.

Hope this helps.
