Audio Systems: installing subwoofers, car drop, easy job

Question
well we've come up with a problem on trying to install the 4 gauge (awg) wire from the battery to the back of the car in a 1995 nissan se altima and can't figure out how to get it through so we can hook up the subs and amp.

Answer
Join the Club!  It is not an easy job and requires some careful and sneaky methods.  For example, you must find a way through the firewall without allowing for engine fumes to enter the cabin; then get under the carpets along the side of the car below the footings of the door panels, under the back seats and into the trunk.  Occasionally you must drill a hole or hack away a little steel to allow for the wire to go through without interfering with the seats or other obstructions.

In a Maxima that I owned a few years ago I had to pull up  the carpets between the drivers seat and the door wall, run the wire down in the corner and reinstall the carpets.  I used 2 inch duct tape to hold it down while it was being installed, which did a pretty good job.  Once the carpet is back in place the wire stays put pretty well.

Hope this will help. Good Luck,
Cleggsan

PS: Some run the wire UNDER the car.  Drop down from the battery, under the car, staying away from the hot elements of the exhaust and tailpipes, then drill a hole for grommet and passing the wire to the interior of the car.
