Audio Systems: Audio connections, rca inputs, rca jacks

Question
My TV has a coaxial port and 3 RCA inputs in the back. Is there a modulator or other device I can buy to run my TV audio to my receiver? I recently switched from satelitte to cable and the satelitte box had an output port I used to connect to my receiver.

Answer
To feed audio into the receiver you must have an audio OUTPUT.  If the tv does not have one and the cable box does not, then you cannot feed audio into the receiver.

The easiest solution would be to purchase another tv that DOES have an audio out or check with your cable company asking them if they have a set top box with analog audio out.

Check your tv again closely and see if the rca jacks on the back - that one of them is labeled an OUTPUT.  It is unusual for a set to have 3 audio inputs.  But, if you tell be the make, model and age of the tv I can give you a definitive answer.
