Audio Systems: radio code, acura dealer, radio code

Question
I have the serial # and Model # for a 1997 Acura 2.2 CL but I need the code to restart the radio, does can anyone help?

Answer
You must go to a Acura dealer. They will supply you with the anti-theft code if it is lost (owners are warned when purchasing the vehicle new or reselling it to be certain to keep the code and pass it on to the new owner).  Some dealers will obtain it free of charge; others will make you pay some nuisance fee such as $35 or $50.

You will be asked to show proof of ownership or they will not give it to you.  That is why it is called anti-theft protection!

If it turns out the automobile is "hot" you would be in big trouble as they are in the national database, usually, and when someone asks for the code it triggers a search.  Just for your information.

Best wishes with it.

claims they can retrieve the code for you, too.  But they charge some fee - around $13 - and I have no experience with them, so go easy.  I recommend the Acura dealer first.
