Audio Systems: 96 Intrepid radio problem, stock speakers, radio problem

I have a 96 Intrepid with the "Amplified midline AM/FM stereo cassette". The display works about 10 minutes every 6 months. Can it be repaired or does the radio need to be replaced? What models have compatable radios? I also lose about 1 speaker a year - not from excess volume. What problem should I look for?

The stock speakers are junk. Upgrade to after market speakers when the next ones blow. As for the deck, all the Dodge decks that shape can interchange, but an after market deck would be a  great upgrade.  I had many customers very happy after having a $199 CD player installed, and new speakers. Don't bother repairing the stock deck, they keep breaking.
