Audio Systems: TV Audio Out not compatible with my wried headphones, rca outputs, headphone amplifiers

Question
Dear Expert- not too long ago i purchaced a nice pair of wired headphones and then not too long after that got a nice tv. I would like to use my headphones with the tv, but there is no headphone jag- is there a converter cable? I see other posts where people have wireless headphones- is the answer the same for me as it is for them?

Answer
Wireless headphones have an amplifier built in to the transmitter so you can use the RCA outputs from the TV. Most TV's to my knowledge do not have 3mm stereo jacks for headphones. Are you normally listening through the TV speakers? There are headphone amplifiers that you can buy which can be plugged into the RCA audio outputs from the TV. Just be sure that you can mute the TV speakers and still feed signal to the RCA outputs. Check the TV menu under audio/speakers On/Off.
