Audio Systems: kenwood mp735u installation problems, voltmeter, entire system

Question
I installed my Kenwood head unit, hooked up my audiobahn sub and amp, as well as connecting the amp remote switch into the 12Volt power wire of the head unit so that the sub will power up when the head unit gets power. The entire system was working fine until i went to reassemble my interior, then the head unit did not power on, yet the sub still gets power when the car is on. I pulled the unit back out and checked and all the wires are still connected correctly. any ideas why the unit stopped powering on?

Answer
It has lost power somewhere along the way. Do you have a VOM and do you know how to use it?

The best way would be to put the voltmeter on the 12v connections at the head unit to make sure it really has 12v at both connection points.  You can usually get at these wires from some connection block if not at the back of the head unit partially pulled out of the dash....

Hope this helps.
