Audio Systems: amp and speakers, oldsmobile 88, input impedance

I have a 1997 oldsmobile 88 LS it has a factory installed cd cassette player in it i want to hook an amp and 2 10 inch speakers can i  do that

My guess is that the CD/Cassette player is also a Tuner/Amplifier. If so there is no line output match the input impedance of an amplifier. If you try and modify it you will be asking for trouble. Even if you were to take it to an experienced car audio center, no one can guarantee that you won't have problems. My recommendation, if you want a new stereo, is replace everything with new equipment.
