Audio Systems: audio, citroen saxo, independent wire

i have fitted a new cd player and speakers in my Citroen saxo but when i turn it up over 20 it just crackles i checked out the cd player in a friends car and it worked fine and checked out the speaker in her car they worked fine to do you know what else it could be?

Check the ground wire to the unit; make sure it is a good, solid ground.

Check the wiring to the speakers. If they are crossed or shorted it can cause this problem.

If  you can do this, disconnect all speakers at the cd player and connect only one speaker direct with independent wire just for checking; if it works good going direct to a speaker then you have a speaker wiring problem.

In the worst case you may have to take it into an install/repair expert who can analyze the problem for you.
