I Have a 2600 Watt Power Acoustik Power Series Amplifier.
I am looking to purchase subwoofers that will produce as much bass as i can possibly achieve.
i will be putting them in a 1994 chevy lumina euro
can you reccomend me a type of speaker that will produce extreme bass?? how many or them i would need fo high db's??
also any type of specific box (ported, slot ported, sealed)

Answer
This is a design question and there are too many parameters for me to guess at.  Further, I do not like to make equipment recommendations because there are too many subjective factors involved.

But, your solutions are not difficult. I recommend you to go to a local installer or retail shop and get some advice from them.  Especially, choose a shop that has experience with or specializes in show cars.  You want to get real bass and with lots of power you can really vibrate everything in site.  But, how many amps, what drivers you choose and how they are loaded for the chevy lumina (great car, by the way) will all be a factor.

Another matter is how much you are into showing it off for looks and technology as opposed to just pure performance with the trunk lid shut and a system not to be seen, but to be heard.  For example, most cars can produce very, very strong bass with a couple of 8 inch subs in the right boxes and a few hundred watts, but it doesn't go over strongly with the show crowd.

Such things as custom upholstery for the enclosures to match with the rest of the car, double batteries and oversize alternator or power caps will have to be considered if you really want the lowest bass and the most awful sound pressure level.

Vented boxes, properly matched to the drivers always give slightly better bass performance, but closed boxes are easier to design and produce fewer rattles in the car.

The manufacturer of the subs you choose usually supply or recommend enclosure designs.  The box must be taylored to the q Small-Theile parameters of the specific driver.

If you are technical there are many free software programs you can download that will help you design the right box for your drivers.  Just google it and you can build your own boxes to fit the car interior.

See how it goes and let me know if you need further discussion.
