Audio Systems: Kenwood Stereo Installation, power antenna, antenna wire

Question
I currently have a 96 Land Rover.  I took out the factor stereo (just got tired of the tape deck) and want to install a Kenwood KDC419.  This radio was previously installed in my 97 Honda Accord.  My problem is connect the Land Rover wires with the Kenwood.  The Kenwood is a 16 pin and the existing Land Rover wiring is a 10 pin.  I got fed up and cut of the connector and pulled up the manual for the Kenwood but the colors in the manual are not the same colors in the Land Rover.  What do I do?  Please help me I am going insane without a radio in my vehicle.

Thank you

Answer
The best solution would be to put your plug back on, and buy an adapter harness, and antenna adapter plug for a VW install. That plugs right in and the colors are mostly right. Most car audio shops stock these. But, if the plug is gone, you will have to test wires. This is a basic install, other than the extra amp and subs in the rear doors on some upscale models.
here is a link for adding after market subs with some of the wire colors shown.

This page shows the removal, and mentions the amp location

If you have not powered up the "power antenna" wire the amp won't turn on. your old deck may have a wiring diagram on th e case. If you are still stuck, get back to me and I can give you more info on testing your wires.
